Coffee with a Friend…..Unconventionally

Coffee with a Friend….

I had a busy morning planned that included errands and exercise, so to get me through my rainy morning peacefully, I hit the Starbuck’s Drive Thru for my Grande Nonfat Latte with 1 Splenda and 1 Pump of Pumpkin Spice.

Coffee in hand, I headed to my local library to find out why my library card won’t allow me to put a book on hold online. Urg. Could it be that I don’t use it often enough? Damn. Possibly. I’m still trying to get my hands on that book, “Depressed and Anxious”. Am I excited to curl up with it in a cozy chair and get to readin? Not so much. But I am eager to find a way to deal with unexpected stress and/or unexpected events, and at the same time stick to my exercise and healthy eating routine. My therapist, that I totally ran into in a parking lot last week, tells me the answers to being able to do that are in Chapter’s 7 and 8!

Anywho….as I pulled into a parking spot, one of my girlfriends called. It seems as though every time her and I call each other, we can never talk. She was running errands as well and was hoping to get caught up a bit over the phone. I decided to recline my seat just a bit, sip on my coffee, enjoy the rain, and have coffee with my friend. I think we chatted for over a half an hour!

I finally got into the library and I was able to put the book on hold. Apparently right now, at least one other person in my community is looking for answers in “Depressed and Anxious”.

When I got home from the errands, I attempted to take the dogs for a walk. While I did capture a few cute moments on the sidewalk, it was actually raining just enough that we were wet before we made it up the street, so we came right back home.

I’m really into leaves right now…….

We had all of the kids and grandkids AND Grandma over for dinner last night. Grandpa is out of town, so I invited Grandma over too thinking she might enjoy a night of playing with the great-grandkids instead of sitting at home alone. Our son and daughter-in-law brought their dog over too, so as you can imagine, the house was full and everyone kept busy.

After everyone left, you would have thought Tucker and Mishka walked 100 miles, because they both curled up on a blanket on the couch and literally passed out!

I had planned to do my exercise in the morning, but after attempting to walk the dogs, I decided it was too wet and it was just going to have to happen later. After everyone left after dinner, I cleaned up the kitchen, pondered NOT walking for just a split second, then headed out the door. I think it was close to 9:00 p.m. and it was lightly raining.

Not only did I go out, at night, in the rain, I RAN! Most of it actually. I offered red wine at dinner and I had a nice size glass left in the bottle. What I really wanted to do after everyone left, was to curl up with it on the couch. Instead, I corked it, and went out for my walk/jog and ended up running most of it.

Felt pretty damn good.

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Spinach and Cheese

A friend of mine sent me a text reminding me about the awesome website Skinnytaste! I decided it would be fun to make something that I had never made before since I was going to have a crowd over to sample it. We were having Spaghetti and Meatballs, so I decided to try the Baked Spaghetti Squash because the pictures of it looked delicious!

Here’s Mine!
