I’m Hiring…..Myself

So now that I’ve actually taken some time to think about the year ahead, I’ve come up with a short term plan for myself for the next 6 weeks. If you read my blog regularly, you know that I seem to work best with a short term plan. That long term stuff just kinda stresses me out! Short term always feels very doable and realistic for me!

Feeling a little bummed that I am not a WW employee by now, I need a job! I need more responsibility! I need to put on real clothes each day! I need a schedule! I want to feel like I have accomplished something of importance or value at the end of the day.

I’ve come to the conclusion……that “I” am my job for the next six weeks. I’m hiring ME! I will follow a schedule that will include what time I get out of bed, what time I exercise, what time I eat, what time I shower and dress for the day, what time I walk the dogs, and what time I will take during the day to write my blog. My schedule will be my job. I will be my job. My health will be my job. You get it, right? I …..Am…… A…….Job!

Five days a week, my schedule will be exactly the same, and two days a week, my schedule will differ a bit, but exercise will be on my schedule first thing each and every morning, no exceptions! (Well, unless I’m in the hospital, or tied up by a bad guy or something completely out of my control. Geeezzzz, we’ve been watching Breaking Bad and it just makes me think about weird stuff!)

I like a “change” and I like a “fresh start” to things, so making myself follow a schedule feels right as I start out the new year. I can always list off a gazzillion things that I’ve accomplished each day, so it’s not that I don’t think I am responsible in any way, but honestly, sometimes at the end of the day, I realize I never did walk the dogs, and I should have made time for that. Or when Mike walks in the door, I think to myself, I maybe should have showered today. I notice that when he comes home, and I feel like I have had an organized and accomplished day, and I’ve taken the time to “put myself together”, I just feel better about myself. I guarantee, he could care less, but I have to imagine that I’m a little more fun to look at when it appears as though I have actually taken the time to comb my hair. I do like hats.

I currently write my blog first thing in the morning, well. typically. That can sometimes only take an hour. Other times, I go back in my blog to look at old post, or I take forever trying to make my food pictures look somewhat like I just didn’t snap them real quick with my phone (which actually they are ALL snapped real quick with my phone!), or I find myself looking up recipes for the next day, and all of a sudden it’s NOON! Then I’m scurrying around trying to get my “to do list” done for the day, and I skip my exercise and end up cooking dinner with hair that never did see a comb!! I’m likely wearing a hat!!

Yes. I need a schedule.

So that’s my plan for the next six weeks. I now have a job. Why six weeks? That’s when we go to the beach. I’ll get my holiday weight off, come home and make a plan for the next six weeks!!

If you don’t work outside the home, or if keeping the house in order IS your job…..

Do you have a schedule? Or do you wing it? I’d like to know!
