Day 21, Whole30

This town loves their Kansas City Royals. We loved this group last year and we knew they’d be back to take the Crown this year!

Mike and I watched the game at home…..

Wide awake and very calm in the 11th inning!

When things got crazy in the 12th inning, we decided to go back over to the neighbor’s house that we were at the night before for Victory Fireball Shots!! You guys, we just won the World Series!!!

Tess wanted us to FaceTime her so she could do a victory shot with us!

(I totally spit my shot of Fireball back into my shot glass, but they were the mini red solo cups, so nobody knew. I hadn’t planned to do that, but when it was in my mouth, I was like nooooooooo…….) Goofball.

If you’re not a sports fan, the Mets have a player with the last name Duda. I was singing Doodah Doodah all night, so I had to post this after the game. Remember, sometimes….I think I’m funny.

Tess is planning to come in from Dallas late tonight for the big Parade tomorrow, so it should be an interesting and crazy and fun day!

You just gotta love this team!!

Okay….Whole30 talk…..

We haven’t been eating many salads, and we both really like salads. I’m terrible at coming up with Dressing Recipes, and the ones that I have made in the past that I really liked, had sugar or honey in them, which is a big No-No for the Whole30. I reached out to someone yesterday that is also doing the Whole30, and she said she likes all the fancy Olive Oils and Vinegars, mixing them 50/50. I haven’t used any of my Oils and Vinegars and I have no idea why. I used them last night, and I loved our salad! You can be expecting several salads over the next 9 days, and likely after that too!

My exercise is super random lately, and I have no good explanation why……

Here are yesterday’s eats…..

Breakfast

Lot’s of veggies (Zucchini, Asparagus, Red Bell Pepper, 1/4 Medium Sweet Potato) topped with two egg whites and one egg. 1/4 Banana, 1/2 Clementine and a couple of berries.

Lunch

The last slice of Meatloaf, Cherry Tomatoes and an Orange. Weird, but I hadn’t been to the store yet.

Dinner

Turkey Burger topped with 1 Slice Bacon, Smashed Avocado and Salsa. 1/4 of a Sweet Potato, Chopped Salad.

I made one sweet potato in the morning, and used it for our breakfast and dinner. (Trying to eat less potatoes this week.)

The salad was really good and this picture doesn’t really do it justice. Equal parts Kale and Spinach. Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Shredded Carrots, and a simple dressing of equal parts of White Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil.

Exercise = none…Look’s like I’m on the “every other day” schedule?

Water Consumed = 80 oz

This is What I Will Accomplish in 2015

I will choose one occasion per month for Social Drinking (um..this is a work in progress)

I will go no more than two days in a row without exercise. (I’ve done “two a day’s” to make up, and slacked lately)

I will track every single day of the entire year. (I’ve only NOT tracked a few weekends this year.)

I will not be tracking my food while doing the Whole30.

I will run in a minimum of six 5K’s. Five down, One to go!

  2. Oh, that’s awesome to know! Everyone loves Rusty!

Crazy excitement here in town. Love it!!

  3. We too were rooting for the KC Royals. An fyi – We grew up in a small town in California (Paso Robles – located 30 miles north of San Luis Obispo). I went to high school with the Royals first base coach – Rusty Kuntz. Sooooo…….lots of locals cheering for the Royals. He is a great guy.

  4. Congrats on the world series win 🙂 We are very somber around here this morning, Guess we’ll have to wait for next year!
