I woke up Friday morning knowing I needed to have a really good day. I’ve not been “On Plan” the last several day, and by a good day, I mean I needed to stay within my points, not eat ANY candy, and have limited or no alcohol.
Candy is a huge trigger food for me, and typically at Halloween, I’ve learned to buy candy that I don’t care for, Skittles, Starburst, the fruit stuff…NO CHOCOLATE! What did I buy this year?
We had THREE Trick or Treaters last night! I have a huge bowl of chocolate bars in my house, and I didn’t eat ANY of them yesterday!
After posting my blog, I think I’ll put a post on Facebook! “I’m taking Trick or Treater’s today too! No costume necessary!”
After my WW meeting, I met a girlfriend at one of our big parks and we took an awesome 6.5 miles hike! I’ve been going to this park since I was a little kid, but I guess there are a lot of acres I’ve never seen, because we stumbled upon this! I’m not sure if it was built for the park at some time, or if it was actually an old stone house, but none the less, it was kind of a cool find!
After our hike, we went to lunch, and I ordered a salad. My salad was served with a huge slice of bread, which I took 2 bites of, then gave it to my friend! Success!
After lunch, I headed home to face my challenging evening of candy at my house!
Along with Halloween, it was my hubby’s birthday yesterday, and he was up in the air as to what he wanted to do right up until the last minute. He decided he wanted to stay in, so I made his favorite dinner, Spaghetti. This worked out great for me because I could eat it over Zoodles.
On our wine trip back in May, we bought quite a bit of yummy wine, and we’ve done a really good job of savoring it and trying to save it for special occasions, like birthdays!!! We opened a bottle, and we each only had ONE glass! I was super impressed with myself. I savored the one glass that I had, and we corked it up to enjoy another glass tonight.
Mike’s plate and his view……
Dinner was delicious, then I went out to chat with a few neighbors that were outside sitting around a fire pit. I sipped on my hot tea while they enjoyed wine and beer. I was feeling super successful!! Still, with all of the candy around me, I had NONE!
Mike and I are going to go out to dinner tonight for his birthday, so I’ll be careful today.
I am meeting my mom and aunt at my aunt’s house and I know that she is having coffee along with Panera Bagels and Cream Cheese, so I’m planning my day accordingly.
This week, i am going out of town on a short girls trip with a friend on Monday and coming home on Wednesday. Then I have plans to go out of town with another friend on Thursday and come home on Friday. This week is going to be a real challenge to stay within my points, but I’m feeling like I have GOT to do this! Not paying attention through the months of November and December could put me in a bad place come January, and I really don’t want that.
I’m walking 100 Miles in November, so it feels good to know that I have that challenge ahead of me and that I won’t be skimping on my walking!
