I had a great time at The Bubble Run on Saturday morning!
I really had no idea what to expect. I was signed up with a few friends that I know really well, and a few other ladies that I had never met. The race was at 9:00 am and there were approximately 10,000 participants. I was being picked up at 6:30 am, and I had no idea why we were going so early, and I didn’t ask.
I found out later, that with so many participants, parking was one reason for going so early, and apparently, so was tailgating! Yep, right before the run, we all met at my favorite little neighborhood restaurant parking lot, Sunset Grill.
There were Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa’s!! These girls were prepared for a fun day at the Bubble Run!
I passed on a drink, and I hadn’t really decided yet if I was running or walking, and I had no idea what everyone else was doing, but I was getting the vibe of a fun group 5K walk.
We did get there early, and it was a good thing, because there really were about 10,000 people there!
We were close to the front of the line, and still undecided if we were running or walking, but with the music and all the people, there was a definite awareness of adrenaline starting to pump in me.
I was ready to get started…..
Once we started, Becky and Amy and I just started running without really much discussion. (okay, jogging)
Every kilometer, there were bubbles to run through…..and then we just kept running.
It was a perfect windy Saturday at the Kansas Speedway!
We finished in about 40 minutes with running about 2/3 of it??? Maybe we ran more than that. Considering the fact that I wasn’t sure what my plan was, I felt good about the amount of running that we did.
The rest of the gang was pretty close behind. We were all happy to have some breeze and finish!
Super happy actually…..
Back to Sunset Grill for some fuel! I loved getting to meet these ladies that I had heard so much about through mutual friends. What a great and fun group of gals! Glad I got to be a part of the day!
Here are yesterday’s eats…..
Breakfast – 6 PPV
I ate this at about 6:00 am. Hated to go on an empty stomach. Egg White Sandwich with 1/4 Avocado.
Lunch – 12 PPV
Bloody Mary (Wasted Points! It actually didn’t taste so great, and I should have skipped it all together.) and Chicken Skewers
Snack – 5 PPV
I snacked on a cup of this while looking for the energy to shower. I went to bed at midnight after the reunion, and then woke up at 5:00 am. I was pooped.
Dinner – 15 PPV?
Salad, Carrots, Grapes and a Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash, Kale pizza from Trader Joe’s that I did NOT like at all. I scraped off the toppings and ate the crust with a little more salad and a few bites of Mike’s pepperoni pizza.
