I’m so happy when my kiddo comes to town. I miss her like crazy, but it makes our visits all that more special.
We had several things planned, and with so many food and drink challenges, my plan was to make the best choices that I could, and enjoy my daughter being in town. I picked up Tess and Manuel at the airport on Thursday morning. Our first stop, buy new Royals gear for the game on Saturday. Second stop, a little BBQ. I said I would order turkey, and I did. Turkey topped with slaw and a few stolen fries.
I promised myself a Hot Yoga class on Thursday night, since my daughter and her boyfriend would be at a rehearsal dinner. Not really thinking about the fact that they would have my car, I did Hot Mowing instead. I know. I’m hilarious.
I also promised myself that I would walk Friday morning, then go to my WW meeting. I did both of those things!
Manuel, my daughters boyfriend, (who I adore), and I spent Friday afternoon together since Tess was doing Bridal party stuff, and Mike has that job thing. I took Manuel to one of my favorite spots for lunch, The Beer Kitchen. I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t like. I ordered the Black Bean Burger and Sweet Potato Fries, he had the Fish and Chips. I ate half of the bun and the burger was awesome. The hardest part of lunch was only eating a few of those fries. Manuel’s Whiskey creeped into my lunch picture!
I loved spending the afternoon getting to know the guy spending so much time with my kiddo. Mother Approved!
Friday night was the wedding. I introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Conway!
Isn’t Madi beautiful? Tess and Madi met in grade school. They’ve grown up so fast!
Tess and Manuel danced all night long, I chatted, danced, sipped on wine and stayed away from the Sweets Table that had so many of my favorites! With all of the great food that was there, I literally smelled the Peanut M&M’s (worst trigger sweet for me!) on someones breathe, and it was KILLING me!!
We had a great night!
Saturday afternoon, we went to my nephews Congratulations Party! He just earned his PhD, and is now joining the Peace Corps, which he has talked about for a long time. I am so proud of him and it was great to listen to the excitement in his voice talking about the next two years of his life, teaching English to Grade School children in Samoa. Maybe Mike and i will go visit?? The pictures of the island are gorgeous, and I’m pretty sure my nephew would love a family visit!
This is Mike, Me, my mom (she is 4′-8″), Steve (the graduate!) and Tess.
My mom met Manuel for the first time this weekend! We seriously crammed in a lot of stuff!
At the party, I had a glass of wine and a few bites of really yummy snacks, then two beers at the Royals game. I packed a cooler of snacks to have before the game which included Raw Veggies and Guac, Turkey, Cheese and Crackers, a Giant Fruit Platter and lots of water bottles.
I made my first ever Stub Hub purchase and look where our seats were. Who’s at the plate??
We lost. I was sad. We still had a great time though.
We slept in on Sunday, and enjoyed a relaxing morning with brunch at home. I dropped off the kids at the airport in the afternoon and came home to a nice nap.
It was hard to count points all weekend with the wedding food and the party food, so I’m just assuming my 49 points are gone, and I’ll eat 26 points the rest of my WW week.
After my nap yesterday, I made a September plan for Food and Exercise.
Exercise
2 Yoga classes a week, 2 Jazzercise classes a week, and Walk 3 miles 2 times a week.
Food
I’m going back to the basics and eating from the WW Simply Filling foods list. If you are not a WW member, it’s basically Fruits, Veggies, Lean Protein, Whole Grains, Healthy Fats and Fat Free Dairy.
When I eat from that list, I eat much better without really feeing too restricted.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
Today I am cleaning, organizing and meal planning!

I will go no more than two days in a row without exercise. (I’ve done “two a day’s” to make up)
I will track every single day of the entire year. (I’ve only NOT tracked a few weekends this year.)
I will run in a minimum of six 5K’s. Three down, three to go!
I always do better with a plan and goals…..
“love the life you live, live the life you love”
It was a busy one! That’s for sure. This weekend will be quiet…I think.
The venue was awesome! Everything was beautiful.
Have a great rest of the week, Nancy!
You have the busiest, fun packed weekends.
That was a nice venue for a wedding.
I couldn’t pass up M&M with peanuts.
It was nice to see the stands filled at your baseball game.
The poor Reds are playing to an empty stadium.
Both of your sandwiches really look good.
