All the Fall Feels

Dear fall,

Please last forever.

I love you,

Me

These are the same happy leaves from yesterday. I’m going to keep playing with them until they no longer look happy.

Yesterday was basically an awesome fall day. Pumpkin spice coffee at home, a video meeting with a personal trainer (more on that in a sec), a little early grocery shopping, a four mile chilly walk with a friend followed with a 30 minute workout at home. I cooked up some soups in the afternoon. Mike surprised me and said we could move the furniture back into the living room and we ended our day with a bowl of chili watching the Chiefs game! It was ugly, but we got a win! So many fall things all in one day!

I hope you had an awesome fall day as well!

Activity

I love this thing now and all the info it provides. My walk yesterday was longer than a typical day but it is so much easier to do with a friend!

My birthday month daily gift to myself?

A personal trainer.

I need to build muscle. I’ve had enough physical therapy over the last few years that I’ve heard over and over again, build muscle, less strain and work on those joints. I never know what to do for a regular workout. Do what when? How often? How much weight? How many reps? How many days? I need guidance but also I don’t want to spend a million dollars on a trainer. I’ve had trainers in the past and I do like the routine of it and the confidence I have in doing a workout a professional has put together for me that will meet my needs.

Over the weekend I was chatting with my friend, Google, when I discovered a plan that I think might work for me. The company, Kickoff, had good reviews, and they have three plans that you can choose from with no long term commitment. Cancel at any time. Uhhh, count me in!

The basic plan is $3/day. With the Basic Plan you have a personal trainer that will give you a workout plan and nutrition plan if you’d also like that. Your trainer will then check in with you, be available to answer questions via text and guide you through a personal plan. For the next two levels, you can have video chats once or twice a week for additional and more personal support. The Basic Plan sounds like what I was looking for and I was assigned to a trainer named Julie Marie. That’s MY name! So….meant to be.

My experience yesterday was a great one. My 30 minute workout was very doable. In our free initial video conversation (scheduled for 15 minutes, but lasted for 30) she asked me several questions about the equipment I have at home, what activities I enjoy doing, what limitations I have, how many days a week I’d like to be active and what my goals were. We made a good connection and as I logged my workout in the app (yes, there is an app) she would comment and ask how I was feeling about the exercises. She checked in on me last night as well to see if I had any questions. Day one, I’m impressed and excited.

I’m looking forward to seeing how I feel and what she has planned for me the remainder of the week.

This Room!

It’s hard to contain my excitement over what this room is going to look like. I’m already really happy with it and there is so much yet to do! Today….area rug shop! Hope to have it by Christmas! Next step, sand and paint fireplace.

Until tomorrow!

  1. Great to hear that it is a positive change with WW. I love the light in the room, especially during the winter. Beautiful.

  2. The room does look more light and airy. You are right! I’m anxious to get a rug in here because it will make a huge difference in how loud it feels in here right now.😂 There is no doubt in my mind that you are going to absolutely love the WW news! I’m excited to share with everybody! 😃

  3. I don’t know how I missed this post yesterday, but WOW – your living room looks gorgeous! It’s so much more light and airy, don’t you think? You must be thrilled! Can’t wait to see the rug once you find it. I’d been mentioning to ask about the new WW program – it won’t roll out in our class until Saturday the 13th, but I’ve seen so much about it online. So I’m glad Cathy asked about it. I remember how apprehensive I’ve been on the roll-outs of new programs before, especially the blue/green/purple plans, but I always come around. I have LOVED my purple plan, so hopefully these tailor-fit plans will allow some of the same freedoms. I’m also loving all these daily posts, so THANK YOU for being so faithful to do them!

  4. Thank you! I’m so happy with these fresh walls! Makes the house feel cleaner than it actually is! 🤣

  5. It does feel good to write! Such a great release and a feeling of accomplishment along with the accountability. I hope I get to see you this week and that you are feeling great!

  6. Hey Cathy! I sure miss being able to see you on Friday mornings. I still have one Workshop. I LOVE the plan and I’m excited to share it! Maybe changing things up just a bit could be a kickstart??? Are you attending workshops? I do hope you had a great day today and I look forward to hearing from you again soon!

  7. It always feels so good to write everyday and you are sharing in pictures. Your living room looking good.

  8. Hi Julie,

Are you still doing weight watchers? What are your thoughts about the new plan? Have you heard anything about it? I am at such a loss without you. Miss you and your inspiration. It was great to read about your wonderful all day ! Yes, it is going to be a great day. Thanks, Cathy
