Girls & Lights

Yesterday was one of those whirl wind days where I never seemed to stop going and going, yet I’m not really sure what all I did. Today was much the same. I’m now cozy with hot tea by the fire gathering my thoughts and wrapping up the day.

I looks like a no snow Christmas this year, so I’ll stare at this mug while I sip my hot cinnamon tea and dream of an old fashioned white Christmas.

While lunch was filled with veggies, the rest of the day was filled with un-pictured snacking and not enough water.

But it was a fun night!

I took my high school girls on a Christmas light tour last night.

We put a date on the calendar to get together for dinner at a fun Kansas City hot spot all decked out for the holidays. With a late attempt at reservations and no luck, we decided simple usually works best for us anyhow. I asked them what they thought of packing a cooler and snacks and I give them a Christmas light tour. They’re pretty much game for anything, so we did.

One of them did suggest we start with a Espresso Martini she’d heard about, and it did not disappoint!

When Betsy and I decided to give Frosty a try, we thought it might be fun to make four of them so we could all have one. We surprised the girls with theirs last night.

It was a great night with the girls spent in my truck checking out several Christmas light displays. Possibly a new tradition.

I love this veggie hash from Trader Joe’s. I added pork sausage and an egg.

Not the healthiest day, but a special one for sure.

What holiday traditions are you enjoying with family and friends?

  1. The snowman were so much fun to make and a fun gift to get to give the girls. Your girlfriends are lucky to have you Nancy! Merry Christmas to you!

  2. You and your girlfriends have too much fun…lol. And I love the frosty boards, great job!

  3. It sounds like the night turned out great and so did those snowmen boards you made.
I had a group of friends that would get together for a meal but not as much fun as your group.
