I snacked a lot yesterday, but I snacked smart, and I tracked everything. I did not eat any sugar or drink any alcohol. I did eat a lot of protein. I got in a walk, I didn’t binge, and I went to bed feeling satisfied with my day, and happy. I’ve got a full day planned today and headed out the door, so here are yesterday’s eats….. Breakfast – 6 SP Veggie and 5 Egg White Scramble topped with Smashed Avocado and Salsa. Those mini bell peppers I grilled out on Monday tasted great in my breakfast scramble! This also has 75 g of cooked white new potatoes and 10 g of cooked bacon. Have you tried a Cara Cara Orange? So sweet! Snack – 5 SP 30 g of Raw Cashews Lunch – 5 SP Leftover grilled everything and some boiled new potatoes. This taste great hot or cold. […]
Do What Makes You Happy
Yesterday, I filled my day with things that make me happy, and avoided most of my “to do” list. I slept in (stupid time change), then I had coffee on the deck. I soaked up some late morning rays with my little Tucker man. He loves a nap in the sun. That’s some Doggie Bliss right there. I experimented with some sweet potatoes and zucchini for breakfast cakes. After writing my blog post, Sugar is the Devil, Tucker and I took an hour walk. A walk on a beautiful day is a great way to clear your head of negative vibes and fill it up with positive vibes. After doing just a few of my “to do’s”, I grilled out some Chicken and Asparagus and soaked up some more sunshine, all while listening to Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and a few other of my favorite oldies […]
Sugar is the Devil
I am never trying to beat myself up when I write a blog post like the one that you are about to read. Writing my blog (journaling) has taught me a lot about myself. When I get my feelings and thoughts out of my head, and down on paper (or here on this screen), it helps me solve my problems and it helps me to move forward, sometimes it just takes a little longer than others. I have journaled since grade school, and it’s just how I figure my shit out. If it helps you figure your shit out too, then that’s one of the benefits of me sharing. While I am not beating myself up, I am recognizing my struggles, and I am sharing my thoughts and feelings. I know for a fact that sugar and alcohol are to blame for my recent struggle to get back on track like I […]
Count it and Track it!
I’ve been a real crap WW member these last few days and I still have some vacation pounds to get off. Lately, it’s one good food decision, one bad, one good, one bad. I know that allowing myself to eat sugar and drink alcohol has increased my sugar and carb cravings, and I need to put a halt to that today! I could go on and on about what I have had to eat these last few day’s, but it would be a waste of my time, and yours. These are the facts. I’ve not been tracking these last several days and I know that I am eating too much food. My goal for the rest of the week is to know the nutritional information of the food that I am eating and track it before it goes into my mouth. Pretty simple, huh? “love the life you live, live […]
Lot’s of Work with a Little Play
Last weekend was spent in Dallas with one of my favorite peeps! My daughter, Tess, lives in Dallas and moved into a new apartment a few weeks back. She was wanting a little help getting organized and we were both feeling the need for some mother/daughter time, so we planned a visit and accomplished all sorts of things. It’s has taken me forever to sit down and write this post and get back into my weekly and daily routine. I came home early Tuesday morning to all sorts of unexpected events, but the week has finally slowed down, and Friday’s always seem the best day for me to get back on track, being my Weight Watcher weigh in day and all. I had to escort the hubs to a Dr. appt. this morning, and I’m working next Friday, so I really need to plan to attend a different meeting before I […]
Dallas Bound for a Long Weekend
I haven’t been to Dallas to visit my kiddo for a long weekend in quite a while, so it’s time! She has Saturday, Sunday and Monday off, so we are going to enjoy some much needed mother/daughter time. She is in a new apartment since I was there last, and loves it. She wants to just hang out and chat and cook. Maybe sip some wine. Okay! I spent yesterday running a few errands, doing laundry, housework, and making sure the hubs has plenty of healthy options while I’m gone. The weather was really nice yesterday, so I had the windows open letting in some fresh air and the tunes playing in the background. I love a day at home cooking and listening to music. My mom came over and we got all caught up while I whipped up a few things in the kitchen. It was kind of fun having her […]
We’re Back!
This is what that lucky husband of mine gets to look at if he happens to still be home when I wake up! (Wait…maybe this is why he leaves so early. That thought just popped into my head!) It felt great to be back at the Food Truck yesterday! We had a beautiful day and served up lots of yumminess to regulars and several new customers too! (I stole this picture from a friend’s Snapchat!) I took this one of the girls…. Okay, lots to do today. I’m going to visit my kiddo tomorrow in Dallas for a long weekend and I’ve got some food to shop for and cook up for the hubs and some laundry to do for me! Here are yesterday’s eats…. Breakfast – 7 SP Egg White Omelet stuffed with crispy White Sweet Potatoes (137g) and topped with Smashed Avocado (34g) and Salsa. Berries and Black […]
From Boredom to a Full Day!
(Revised. I forgot to include my Happy Hour in my food for the day!) Making this a quick post today. No time for proofreading. We are opening up the Food Truck today and I’m ready to see all of our customers! We haven’t worked at the Food Truck since December, and these last few months have been filled with some cabin fever days. I’ve enjoyed doing my thing, but I do like a schedule, so I’m excited for the warmer weather so we can get back to serving up some yummy food to people! Yesterday was crazy busy. My back feels much better, and it felt good to be out and about. Seems as though the ice and ibuprofen did the trick. Not 100%, but real close! I went to help the boss do food prep for today, then had about an hour to get a few errands done and […]
Ice On, Ice Off
Yesterday was an ice on, ice off, and ibuprofen day. I set the timer, and every 20 minutes, I was putting ice on or taking ice off of my back. I was reminded how I fell down the stairs a few months back, and all I got was a big bruise on my butt and a cracked cell phone. I pull down my pants to pee, and I throw out my back. What the heck. Yesterday at about 5:00 pm, I got brave (and antsy) and went to Walmart for Banana’s and Eggs. I walked very slowly and used the cart as a walker. About every 10 steps, I winced. This morning, it feels better. I mean I did roll over to my stomach, then put my feet on the floor, then push up, in order to get out of bed, but it was easier than it was yesterday morning. […]
Sunday FunDay??
Sunday FunDay? Yeah, not so much. I was really looking forward to spending the day with the hubs. The weather was gorgeous outside and we had a project to do. Well, he had a project to do, and I was going to keep him company and watch, but help just a little. Mike has been in the middle of a home office remodel for months now, with a plan in mind to start working from home…..one day. The office has new carpet and a new wall color. All of the furniture has been setting in our garage for…..well, for a really long time. Weeks. Months. Okay, less than a year. Anywho, yesterday we carried the furniture in to his office so Mike could open up the garage doors and do some painting on the pieces that he wanted to change up a bit. These two upper cabinets will set on the counter top […]
