Rent My Dog….For Free!

What a whacky day!

At noon, the Dog Trainer came to my house. We are on week six of dog training. I have to say, behavior has changed….there is less barking….he now waits for permission to get on the furniture….he has limited access to upstairs and downstairs….he comes to me on command (well, for the most part), but Tucker still wants to poop in the house (twice this week!) and he has now developed some terrible anxiety about being “gated” in the kitchen! This has resulted in tearing into the dog food/treat cabinet and scratching up the kitchen cabinets in the process! Since I don’t want the kitchen torn up, I’m back to letting him roam the first floor while I am gone. I don’t really know how else to handle that, and apparently, neither does the trainer.

The trainer is expensive, and they do have a money back guarantee, which I have inquired about. No doubt, if Tucker does continue to poop in the house, and shows NO improvement in that area, they will gladly give me my money back. But thats not what I want. I want my dog to poop outside!

Now we are trying one feeding a day instead of two, some relaxing drops in his water for his newly developed anxiety, which will probably go away anyhow now that I’m not limiting him to the kitchen while I am gone,  and I am misting essential oils over his dog bed at night. I am NOT even kidding. Yesterday I purchased new food because the OTHER new food I bought, doesn’t seem to agree with his tummy. Pleeeeeeasssseeeeee.

While on my beautiful and breezy walk yesterday, I was thinking a lot about Tucker, (and how lucky that little turd is that I love him so darn much) when I thought….I wonder how many people get a dog, not knowing how much work and responsibilities they can be, and then they get rid of them.

That’s the moment I thought of it!

I’m thinking……I put the word out in the neighborhood…(it’s a big neighborhood) that if anyone is contemplating buying a dog as a family pet, and can’t really decide, that they simply Rent My Dog…For Free! This way, I get a little break, Tucker gets to play with a bunch of kids, a family (let’s be real….Mom) that thinks it’s no big deal to own a dog get’s a reality check on just how much work one dog MIGHT be, and Tucker poop’s in someone else’s house for a couple of weeks!! WIN WIN!!! Right? Genius?? I think so.

I love it! I’m pondering my Facebook post about it right now!

My iPhone Disaster

While running errands, I set my phone in my cup holder, like I always do. Unfortunately, my cup holder had an actual cup in it, full of water, and no lid. About a full minute later, I happened to look at my phone, realized what was happening, and grabbed it! I was literally shaking water out of it! About two hours later, I made it to the Verizon store, where I absolutely LOVE all of the employees. Adrian helped me. He remembered helping me buy my first iPhone over a year ago when my daughter was with me, AND he remembered that my daughter worked for Southwest Airlines! While I went out to dinner, he kept my phone, put it in the sun and dried it out, recharged it, sent me a text on my husbands phone to tell me that it was working, then since he was getting off work, he BROUGHT IT TO ME AT THE RESTAURANT!!!! Now THAT my friend, is some KICK ASS customer service!! Dontcha think?? Mike tipped him. He refused, but Mike insisted. I just wanted to hug him.

Birthday Dinner

We took one of our daughter’s to dinner for her birthday. Her husband had to work, but the kids came along! I made everyone pose for a selfie outside the restaurant!

After the birthday dinner, I borrowed a Black Light from a friend, on the advice of my dog trainer, to see if there are any pee stains on the carpet.

WARNING!!!

DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE MENTALLY PREPARED FOR WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE! I WAS NOT PREPARED!!
