Updates…..

I haven’t posted anything all weekend! I’ve been busy and it’s felt great!

Weekend Update…..

Friday was a full day with my WW meeting in the morning, then some grocery shopping, a little house work and a small Happy Hour.

Saturday I had breakfast with a few girlfriends, came home and did a few chores, went to a movie with friends in the afternoon, followed up with a few app’s and a Bloody Mary.

Mike and I made dinner plans with friends, but due to the snow, those were cancelled, so we stayed in for a cozy night at home.

Sunday my dad came over for a long coffee visit with Mike and I, then we spent the rest of the day cooking and doing laundry.

We spent Sunday afternoon and evening binge watching House of Cards. It is SOOOO good! Are you watching??

Weight Watcher Update…

Last week was the first week since the 1st of January that I didn’t really feel “In the Zone”. When I went to my meeting, I decided not to weigh in. I can have moments where that number on the scale can really jack with my mood if it’s not what I want it to be, and I decided I wanted to keep the great mood that I had, so I skipped the weigh in part of the meeting. (That’s totally Weight Watcher legal!) 🙂

I stepped on the scale this morning, and I’m actually pleased and surprised with where the scale is.

Social Drinking Update…….

I had wine on Friday night, and a Bloody Mary on Saturday afternoon. I was so certain about where I was with “drinking” in January, and for the last three weeks I have had two glasses of wine (so totally in moderation) on one night on the weekend. That’s WAY better than the drinking choices I was making in November and December, but in January, with NO alcohol, I lost 6 pounds at the end of a month, and that did NOT happen at the end of February.

I did miss my socializing and felt out of touch with my friends. In March, I’ll make those decisions as situations come up, but I will limit any drinking to two drinks. This is one of those subject matters that I go back and forth with and struggle with the “right thing to do” for my weight loss and health in general. I know 2 glasses of wine is better for me than a 6 pack (and by 6, I probably mean 8 or 10) of beer.

I could go on and on about this subject and convince myself to not drink at all, and then turn around and convince myself that it is fine……and then back to not at all, so for now, I’ll stop.

You’re welcome.

Collarbone Update…….

I am supposed to be wearing a sling for 6 weeks with my broken collar bone. It’s been three weeks. The sling was really causing me all sorts of neck and back problems, and at the end of the day I was feeling really uncomfortable and cranky.

I haven’t worn the sling for a week now and I feel SO much better! The doc may advise against that, but I think I’m doing a good job of keeping my shoulder stable without it, and over all, I just feel better! Feeling better meant that I was ready to be social this weekend, so I was, and it felt great to be me again!

What’s in the kitchen Update…..

These are just a few of the things that I ate over the weekend!

This recipe was in the Weight Watcher’s Weekly on Friday, so I made it for dinner on Friday night, and ate the rest of it for lunch on Sunday.

Mike and I are loving this skillet dish!

2 lbs Ground Turkey, 1 Onion, my Homemade Seasoning, Black Beans rinsed and drained, a little Chicken Broth for moisture and any veggie you have on hand that needs to be cooked up! The more stuff you add, just add a little more broth!

You could add…..Shredded Carrots, Zucchini, Bell Peppers, Asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli Slaw, peas, corn, etc.

This skillet dish is turkey, onion, seasoning, broth, black beans, red bell pepper, zucchini and carrots.

You could eat this ….

  1. Over a bed of greens for a salad
  2. In a tortilla
  3. I like a small bowl of this with a soft egg on top of it
  4. Top a bow of this with chopped avocado
  5. Add some diced, cooked Sweet Potato

Now…I’m hungry.

EAT it every day!!!!!

I like it right out of the bowl.

Mike likes it with Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream.

However you would like to eat, just eat it.

Sunday’s nights dinner was Salmon, Asparagus and a Sweet Potato…One of my all time favorite dinners.

  1. Thanks Anna

I’m glad you like the blog.

Yep, those drinks can really add up! Especially when we are paying attention. Egads.

It sounds like you had a really successful week! Congrats!

I’d love to know your opinion on the Burgers. I really liked the taste of them, but I do wish that they held together better.

you have a great week too!

  2. Glad you are feeling better! I stumbled upon your blog and really like it. I hear you about the drinking…I usually save my extra points for some drinks…didn’t realize what a big part of my life it has become 🙁 Didn’t have any this week and lost 4 lbs! Going to try and not have any for as long as I can, it seems everything just works better without it, hope I didn’t jinx myself! Gong to try your quinoa burgers tonight, they sound yummy! Have a great week 🙂
