Wednesday was a MUCH busier day than Tuesday. I woke up to an oddly beautiful red sky, and a thunderstorm that made rolling out of bed really difficult. If I didn’t have dogs, I would not have gotten out of bed. Thank you, dogs.
I had a walking date with a few friends at 8:00 am, but due to the storm, we had to cancel.
Sidenote: Schedule a walking date with a friend, or a group of friends! I know that it helps to get me out of the door on days when I am struggling, and I walk faster AND further!
Where was I? Okay….so I stayed in my P.J.’s a little longer, which was nice, then to Beauty of the Bistro Food Truck for a little Wednesday fun. I swear this is the best job ever. I just take the orders, take the money, and talk to people all day long. They are there for the awesome food, so they are in a good mood before I even get to say “hi” to them! The best part is when they walk up, and I realize I now remember their name, so I say….
“Hi Matt. You getting the Roadhouse Burger today?” People love that when you remember their name, and their favorite thing on the menu! And I love the interaction, so I’d say its a win win!
Customer’s can say the strangest and funniest stuff though. I get this one a lot.
“What’s good here?”
I’m like, really? “It’s all good, or it wouldn’t be on the menu” Or I’d like to say……”Well, the blah blah really suck’s, maybe you should get the blah blah instead.”
But I like it when they ask…..”What do you recommend?”
So, then I quiz them a bit, get their mood, then I offer up whatever item I think they’ll like the best. Seriously, EVERYTHING is unique and delicious. Yesterday, I said to a new customer after he asked me what I recommended…..
“I recommend the Boom Boom Taco’s.”
Customer….”Okay, that pulled pork sounds good, but leave off the broccoli slaw.”
I just looked at him. Without hesitation, he said, “Could you put the broccoli slaw on the side? I can tell by your eyes I should at least try it.”
I said, with an eye roll “I will, but I’m not happy about it. It MAKES the taco’s what they are.”
He smiled real big, so he was getting the fact that I was giving him a hard time, but he also knew I was serious about the slaw!
As I handed him his order, I said “I’m really not comfortable with this at all. Promise me that you really will eat the slaw on at least the first taco.”
He just smiled, and I SWEAR within less than 10 minutes he was back at the window all apologizing for not listening and telling us how awesome the taco’s were. Cracked…..me……up!!

As soon as I got home from working at the food truck, I resumed my walking date since the weather had cleared up. We walked to Starbucks. It’s about 2 1/2 miles up the road. We had a nice Iced Latte, chatted, then made the trip home.
Here is where I’m at on my September Walking challenge. It feels good to have a goal to be working towards. When I have a plan, it’s a lot easier to just get out the door and work towards the goal! I missed out on yoga this week, hopefully I can still fit in at least one class.
All I wanted to do when I got home from my walk was shower. The food truck does give you a bit of a “I’ve been frying burgers all day” kinda smell. Then I added exercise on top of it. I smelled AWESOME! Instead, I mowed the yard, then trimmed it, then trimmed some bushes, then I pulled some weeds, then I cleaned out my car. Something was definitely wrong with me! Mike typically plays golf after work on Wednesday’s, so occasionally I curl up and watch a movie, other times, I just can’t stop going!!!
At 9:00 pm, I showered. 🙂
Breakfast
Below…. is a picture of nothing.
I had nothing for Breakfast.

Lunch
The Best Burger in Kansas City
This is half of an Aubry Roadhouse Burger from the food truck
It may be the best burger you will ever put in your mouth! Skipping breakfast, and working at a Food Truck that makes the best burger in the world, is NOT recommended. Most of the time, I do a pretty good job of making good choices while I am there. This Best Burger in Kansas City (the FULL version) is a half pound burger, with muenster cheese, bacon jam (it’s homemade and it is crazy good!), mayo and arugula on a buttered and grilled bun. It’s pretty much making my mouth water right now. I have no idea how many points it is, but I’d guess a full burger at 30 PPV.

Snack
Iced Tall Nonfat Latte with 1 Pump Pumpkin Spice
I order all of my Starbuck’s nonfat latte’s with only one pump, but typically I order a Grande. I think the pumpkin spice has a really rich and sweet flavor, so I ordered a Tall (that’s smaller than a Grande, if you’re not a Starbuck’s fan) with only one pump, and I thought it was perfect! I’m not a huge fan of the iced coffee drinks, but I really did like this combo!
