It was a great date day yesterday! Mike has become a huge workaholic and rarely takes a day off. After a good tongue lashing from me, he took the day off! 🙂
We went shopping for him for some desperately needed shoes and jeans. We ran a few errands. He had a few work related things on job sites to do, so I went with him (so he kinda sorta got away with a little work even after my tongue lashing) then we went to a movie (Unbroken, really good, but hard to watch) and then to dinner!
I think this was the first time that we have eaten out since starting my January Challenge!
I ordered a Blackened Salmon Salad, (it’s my “go to” meal when eating out) dressing on the side, completely forgetting to ask for no cheese, no croutons, no garlic toast! I picked off the croutons, pushed that delicious buttery toasted bread to the side, and took off as much of the cheese as possible. I never touched the dressing. The perfectly cooked piece of salmon, cut up and mixed in with some yummy greens, taste really good without any dressing! Give it a try!
I am approaching this week differently than last week. I think last week, I was testing the waters. I ate so much during the month of December, it was hard to not be picking at stuff all day like I was doing in December. Too many banana’s, too many grapes, too many raw almonds. Again, I was eating good food, but I was eating too much last week, hence the scale not budging.
This week I am more focused on portions (after a great WW meeting about serving size and portion size on Friday morning) and a balance of foods.
It’s going to be a great week at the scale!
