Yesterday, I had this great relaxing day planned for myself. Sleep in (because I had watched really bad Christmas movies until 2:00 am!) drink coffee, have breakfast, buy tires for my car (desperately needed!), shop online for a swim suit for our trip in February and go to Jazzercise in the afternoon. I didn’t even have to cook. We had plenty of Soup that I made over the weekend for dinner.
I enjoyed my morning, got dressed and headed out the door to go buy tires. When I turned the key, my car wouldn’t start. The hubs just happened to be headed to an appointment that was close to our house, so he stopped by and jumped me. (cracking up right now) Okay, fine. He came by and gave my car a jump start. So now I headed out the door to get new tires AND a new battery! Merry Christmas to Me!
I dropped my car off at the dealership, then walked to the Starbuck’s next-door, where I ordered my new favorite drink, a pour over, Holiday Blend. It’s just a really really good cup of black coffee. When I went to pay, I realized that my wallet was actually in my car back at the dealership. Dang the bad luck today! Sometimes, I’ll run a quick errand and just grab my wallet and I’m terrible at remembering to put it back into my purse, and have found myself in this bind a few more times than I would like to admit. The nice lady behind me said “Merry Christmas”, and bought my coffee. People can be so nice. Merry Christmas to Me! For Real!
I spent the entire afternoon sitting at Starbuck’s, where I purchased three new swimsuits online. Geezzzz, I hope I love them! Merry Christmas to Me! (It was an expensive relaxing day.)
I ate breakfast late, there was nothing at Starbucks that I was willing to spend any points on while I waited on my car, Jazzercise never happened, and then I found myself at home after 6:00 pm without having anything to eat since breakfast. I was so hungry! I munched on some apple slices while I heated up the chicken soup, then tried not to eat too much, even though I had the points available. It seemed silly to stuff myself, so I ended the day with a few points left.
Here are yesterday’s eats……

“love the life you live, live the life you love”
They are totally used to my twisted sense of humor. You should see it when I do it in person!
Are you going to Maui???? Jealous!! We have a group of friends that we go to Mexico with pretty much every year, then act like a bunch of 20 year olds on Spring Break. Have you read my Post, The Unbelievable Vacation? That trip was a total mess, and a total blast all at the same time. That trip was actually to the Dominican Republic.
Now I wanna go to Maui!
You did see your grown children roll their eyes and groan when they read about what you said your husband did to you, right? =) LOL!!! And by the way, you’re not planning a trip to Maui in February, are you? …. if you are, that’s gonna “freak me out” again… along with our kitchen counters…. Ronda
I hope your car work doesn’t turn into Merry Christmas to you! Egads, cars can be so darned expensive for the upkeep sometimes.
A salad bar sounds delicious right now. Thanks for noticing the variety. Doing the Whole30 really helped me be more conscious of that.
Have a Super Wednesday Nancy!
I’m taking my car in for work after school tomorrow.
There is a Frisches next door so I’m planning on hitting the salad bar for dinner while they found more things on my car to fix–ugh.
I like how your plates always look so appealing with a lot of variety.
You can see all that pre-planning you do makes a difference.
