First let me say that no matter what I weigh, my highest weight, my lowest weight, Mike has always told me that I’m sexy, and when he says it, I know that he means it, whether I think it or not. For that, and for so many other reasons, I love him.
I’ve talked with several women at my WW meeting that have spouses that aren’t super supportive in their journey to become healthier and lose weight. I can’t imagine living with a spouse or partner that didn’t support my journey to a healthier me. Mike has always been supportive of my WW journey, and all of the emotions that have gone with my journey.
I remember we were sitting on the couch, a really long time ago, and he had a bag of chips that he was mindlessly crunching away on. It was one of those nights that after dinner I wasn’t hungry, but I wanted to eat the chips along with him. I finally said…”The chips are killing me right now. Can you please put them away or eat them in the kitchen?”
He apologized and put them away immediately. I guess not everyone reacts that way. I really am lucky to have him understand me and my needs without question. I’ve thanked him several times since then for his continued support.
This past October, Mike was ready to lose a few pounds, and change some of the bad habits that he had picked up over the last several years. We decided to take on the Whole30 challenge together. At the end of the 30 days, Mike had lost 18 pounds. He liked the way that we we’re eating and wanted to continue. I liked it too, and for the most part, we have continued to eat that way. Meat, Seafood, Eggs, Vegetables, Fruit, Nuts and Healthy Oils. I have continued to make his breakfast and lunch, and he does an awesome job of very little snacking. He is also very complimentary of just about anything I cook up.
Mike has now lost 30 pounds. Stud.
I think he wants to lose 5 more pounds? He looks great! So proud of the changes that he has made and so thankful for his support.
And…bonus….he loves American Idol just as much as I do! Are we the only ones watching? Guys, this show has been so awesome and I am so sad to see it end. He even supports me in my American Idol cancelation sadness. I’m silly, I know.
I’m very grateful for his support, in my weight loss journey, and in all other areas of my life. I’m very proud of the changes that he has made in his diet, and his eagerness to become healthier.
All that gooey stuff being said, we are basically eating the same food and my weight remains the same. Boys are stupid.
