Planning

I spent yesterday doing a lot of planning, but not meal planning.

I mentioned a while back that Mike and I would be taking some trips this year. Reminder, with a kid that works for an airline, mom and dad fly for free! We’ve decided to take advantage of that this year. Okay, I decided, Mike agreed that it was a good idea. 🙂 We have a few trips coming up this month, then a few more planned for the rest of the year.

August – Dallas, Vegas, Dallas again, Nashville

September – North Carolina to the beach with girlfriends.

October – NYC

November…My birthday month…maybe New Orleans? Nothing in black and white yet.

Yesterday, I was focused on our NYC trip. We are staying in Times Square, we have tickets to a Broadway Musical and I think I’m buying a City Pass that I understand gets us around to several tourist spots? The rest we are just gonna wing. I have a huge list of museums and places that I want to see. I’m super excited about this trip! So much to see and do there!

I’m leaving Thursday to go visit my daughter in Dallas. We are going to the Dixie Chicks concert on Friday night, and I may be overly excited.  When Tess and I sing Dixie Chick songs, we sing LOUD. Neither one of us may be able to speak on Saturday. I can’t wait!

Last night was a chill night at home sipping on a glass of wine and watching the Bachelorette Finale with Mike. I think this is one of the dumbest shows on TV and I can’t believe we watched the entire season! I will not watch Bachelor in Paradise. I will not watch Bachelor in Paradise. I will not watch Bachelor in Paradise…..

Here are yesterday’s eats….

Snack = 5 SP

1 Whole Medjool Date with 1 tsp Almond Butter (Pictured, Half Date)

Read your labels. I hadn’t bought these in a while and I was thinking that one date was 2 SmartPoints. I decided to double check. ONE date is 4 SmartPoints! Such a yummy treat, but I now remember that this can be a bit of a trigger food for me.

Dinner – 5 SP

Spaghetti Squash Tuna Casserole

Mike said this tasted great last night and he had seconds. I must not have been in the mood for it, because it just didn’t look good or taste particularly good to me?

  1. I’ve been wanting to go to New Orleans for a long time. Maybe that will happen this year. We both love live music and good food, so it sounds perfect to me!

    Thanks for the recommendations too!

I didn’t know that the Dixie Chicks did anything together anymore either, but I’m excited for the concert!

    Have a great weekend!

  2. They all sound like wonderful places to travel to.
You really need to visit New Orleans (the French Quarters)–it’s such a different place than other cities. Need to have morning breakfast at Cafe du Monde because you need to try the beignets and so many other places around the city have wonderful food.
Ok my trips to New Orleans did involve more than food–lol.
I would like to visit NY but it’s so big.
Oh would like to see Dixie Chicks–I didn’t even think they were together any more.
