Listen Learn Love

I haven’t known what words to use to describe how I feel about everything. This I do know. I have listened harder in the last several days than I have ever listened before and I’ve still got work to do. I’m taking a break from the blog to read some recommended books on Black History and Black Autobiographies and watch some recommended documentaries and movies. I’ve always been one to speak up, but I need to speak louder and more often.

I’ll come back to the blog and share my resources.

For today, I’m getting ready to head over to Effie with my 10 year old grand daughter, Amiyah, and I could not be more excited! We are camping this weekend with my dad, stepmom and a group of other Vintage Trailer owners. I’m not really sure who is more excited to play house in my trailer, me or Amiyah. We went over last night and stocked the fridge and put all of our clothes away. She appreciates my desire to be tidy. lol

Kate Update

Here are a couple of updates from Kate’s Facebook page. She has a great mindset, I’m very proud of her and I know she is going to have great success with her surgery.

Me

I’ve been walking 4 miles a day and drinking 100 oz of water each day. Those two things seem to really help me clear my head when I found myself drowning in my thoughts, which is happening quite often.

I hope you are all doing well. We have to take good care of our body. It can help us with our sanity.

Take good care of yourself.

  1. You’ve inspired me to listen harder and give my own heart a check-up in regard to all that’s been going on. But I would love some help, so would you mind sharing some or all your list of books and podcasts with us later? Meanwhile, have a BLAST with Amiyah and the gang this weekend! Looking forward to seeing all your pictures when you get back!

  2. You and Kate are both on paths that are bring adjustments to your lives.
Each day will bring you closer to your goals because you are determined.
