A Rainy Bonus Day!

For a few different reasons, all day Saturday felt like Sunday to me. It was actually late in the day when it dawned on me that it was only Saturday and then I felt as though I’d just gained a bonus day!

I woke up Sunday early, like 6:00 am early, and could not go back to sleep. Apparently I was excited for bonus day. I headed to the couch with my favorite blanket to look for a good movie to watch. I was thinking a good chick flick, or maybe something romantic.

I curled up on the couch, hugged my biggest coffee mug and decided on The Woman in the Window. A thriller suspense movie on Netflix with Amy Adams. Not at all a chick flick or a romance! Not my typical Sunday morning either, but it was really a good movie!

Following the thriller I…….wrote a blog post, made a yummy brunch for Mike and I, painted my nails, took a 3 mile walk in the rain, ate some chicken soup and finished out the day still listening to it rain while we watched American Idol (yes, we still watch) on the deck with a fire in the fireplace.

Brunch

Bacon, Sweet Potato, leftover Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Red Onion topped with an egg. Mike and I shared the last banana with 1 tsp Almond Butter.

Cutting out sugar? Most bacon has sugar in it, so be sure to read not only the nutritional labels, but also the ingredients.

Snack

1 cup Blueberries

DinnerI call it Chicken & Rice

I was super happy to know I had this in the freezer, especially on a cold and rainy day.

I had sautéed some onions and celery in Olive Oil, then added in Rotisserie Chicken Breast, Chicken Broth and frozen Carrots, Peas and Caulirice. Seasoned with salt and pepper. This taste even better than it did the day I made it!

It was a dang good bonus day!

Thats’ three days on WW Green plan and tracking every bite. While it’s too early to notice any physical changes, mentally it does feel good to be tracking. To be in complete control. To be aware and mindful of my choices.

Have a great Monday!

Until next time.

  1. Nancy, I agree. You are definitely more in control on the Green plan as you are tracking more. We definitely all need to do what works best for us.
I laughed so hard when I read your comment that you might have cried when reaching the locked gate. I almost did. 😂😂

  2. Soup and a lazy rainy day 😊😊😊
Although we’ve had enough rain now, yikes!! It does feel good to be back at tracking. I definitely feel more in control and aware.
    Hope you’re doing well! 😘

  3. I know so many people that cook bacon in the oven. I’ve just always thought it was a mess as well. I can fit about eight slices in a skillet and then I just keep on going. I like to cook up the whole package. Then I put what we don’t eat in a baggie in the freezer. It definitely takes more time but I only do it when I don’t mind hanging in the kitchen for a while. 😊
What the heck is twisted bacon? I’m headed over to Pinterest now to find out!!

  4. Thank you for reading Janet. I appreciate your comment! I’ve done Purple for so long I knew I needed to switch it over. I’ve just been on Green for five days! It is definitely making me more aware though and I needed that.

  5. I’m on Green because I have to write down what I eat.
I need to know if I’m getting in enough of the “good” stuff.
I think I might have cried if I had gotten to the locked gate and they need a sign “no exit”.

  6. Love that at soup and lazy rainy days. I must try it. You are getting back on the WW points I am just getting off. 😂. On and off for years. I did Blue but also tried green. Thanks for the good tips.

  7. Gotta love those bonus days! Okay, I have a question. What’s your secret to cooking bacon? Especially when you need a whole lot more than can fit into a big skillet? We started cooking it in the oven on a cookie sheet lined with foil or parchment, but it makes such a mess. And I never get it quite right. It’s either uncooked over way too crisp, tiptoeing toward burnt. What’s your secret? And have you tried cooking it twisted? It’s all over Pinterest, but I haven’t tried it yet.

  8. Thank you for your blog. I really appreciate it.
How long have you been on WW Green?
    thanks,
