A Fun Project Day

Well, it is by no means finished, but I did get started painting the fireplace last night after a full day accomplishing all sorts of “to do’s”.

The first thing on my list yesterday was to buy a turkey. Have you ever bought a Trader Joe’s turkey? They’re all the rage. Fresh, never frozen. Trader Joe’s opens every day at 8 AM and they got their first turkeys in last Friday. Every day they’ve sold out. I was there at 7:55 and brought myself home a turkey. If you’re a Trader Joe’s shopper then you know occasionally at check out you will hear a bell ring. They do that for various reasons. Price check, someone needs help to their car, etc. Yesterday while ringing up my groceries the cashier rang his bell and I heard about 10 employees from around the store make a noise. Did you just gobble, I asked. Yep. It was hilarious. Do you have to do that every time you sell a turkey? Yep

I came home, got my workout in, then headed over to Betsy’s house to work on a project we’d been talking about. Betsy is super crafty! After building just a few things, her husband bought her a new saw and she’ll make just about anything now! Lately she has been making a lot of clever signs, but she’s also made a bench (or two) for her house, shelves for the walls and a few other super cute things.

One of her benches and some of the shelves she’s made for her house.

She’s working on a few fun holiday signs now.

When I came across this I sent her a text and said “Let’s make this”. She said “Okay, when?”

She had the boards all together and stained. I drew the snowman on with chalk and got busy painting. We had the best day!

While I was paining Frosty, she was working on my tray.

Frosty isn’t finished yet. but I can’t wait to show him to you when he is!

Lunch

Leftovers from my party tray.

Fruit snack.

Dinner

It was late and we needed something quick. One egg, cheese and ham omelette and toast with jelly. I haven’t made toast in forever and it tasted so good, I ate the other half as well.

Out the door to dads for a project over there.

Are you a project person?

Project or no project, you’re amazing and I wish you the best day today!

  1. My mom is constantly telling me I need to just sit down for a few minutes. 😆 I guess I just don’t like to sit.

  2. Love love love the new look of your fireplace! Such a fresh, lightened-up accent to your living room. And how fun was that, being so crafty with your friend? Can’t wait to see Frosty all finished. Girl, you pack more into one day than I do in a whole month! Love it!
