Jam Packed Day

Yesterday was a busy one that started like always, with my coffee. I’ve lost count of how many Christmas mugs I have, but I’ve decided to give them all equal attention and have my morning coffee in a different one until Christmas. I know. I come up with some of the dumbest things to keep myself entertained.

Tess likes this clear one with the Christmas Trees on it, so thinking of her in Dallas while sipping my coffee.

After a leisurely morning coffee, I went for a haircut from my daughter Anne, a doctors appointment with my mom, a short strength training workout, a walk outside, a little cooking in the kitchen and some Chiefs game fun last night!

Prayers going out to Chargers player, Donald Parham Jr. who was injured very early in the game. It has got to be hard to play after a player is taken off the field on a stretcher not knowing how he is doing. Hoping for the best possible outcome for him. Both teams fought hard taking the game into overtime.

What a win! Where are my Chiefs fans?? That was an intense game!

Activity (and a short story)

After my strength training, I headed outside for walk. Our son bought a house close to us and has been working his tail off doing several things to the house before they move in. I decided to include a walk by his house since Mike and Jake were over there working. It’s a 2 minute drive and an 8 minute walk. I’m so excited to have them so close. The new baby is due December 30th, but could be here any day!

As I was leaving the house there were two different neighbors outside that hadn’t yet met the new owners and asked me if I was the new owner. Of course that led to a nice long chat.

Then I sent Jordan (Jakes wife) a text telling her all about her hew neighbors.

Heading back to our house, I found all sorts of pine cones along the sidewalk and brought several home. I also found a branch that begged to come home with me too. It made me think of Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree.

A reflection of my conversation with their new neighbors, the pine cone collecting and several things that have happened here this week )hours on the phone with the new cable company, to looking for passwords, being instructed from tech support to listen for a beeping sound while attempting to reconnect to the wifi, then realizing the beeping we said we could hear was actually the trash truck outside, tapping the phone screen, then tapping it harder when things weren’t connecting) I feel like Mike and I are a living Progressive Commercial, and I’m not unhappy about it. I found myself laughing so hard this week at different things that were happening. Ahhhhh……laughter is good. Mike has wayyyy more patience than I do when it comes to things like that. Me? I just have to laugh to get through it. And seriously, every single Progressive Commercial, I’m like…..That’s me!!

It was a jam packed day and it was a good day.

Breakfast

Coffee with Almond milk

Lunch

Finished the last of the Zucchini Soup with a side of veggies and smashed avocado.

Snack

Beef Stick and a few almonds

Dinner

Egg Roll in a Bowl

This has been an easy favorite for a while now. I almost forgot the green onions!

Game Time Snacks

I made this Buffalo Chicken Dip to take to a friends house to watch the game and totally forgot to take a picture…..

Dip, celery, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, pretzels and roasted plantains for dipping, and two NA beers.

Today….

A few of the grandkids are coming over Saturday for a sleep over so I’m off to the store for sugar cookie fixings so we can decorate cookies and possibly make s’mores. I’m taking them on a Christmas Light Tour like Tess and I used to do. Looking forward to a fun weekend.

What do you have planned?

Any fun Holiday gatherings?

A quiet night watching Christmas movies?

Do you like to take a drive and look at the lights?

I’ve got that festive feeling and looking forward to the weekend!

  1. Oh my goodness. The technology. Drives me crazy sometimes. I wish I were better at Blogging, but I’ve accepted that what I have figured out how to do……is fine for now.🤪

  2. I’m glad you can laugh about technology.
You need that when dealing with it.
I’m so impressed with you and others that can build a blog!
On the other hand I had trouble starting a new Kindle.
Locked myself out of my Wi-Fi, AOL, and Amazon.
The techs at AOL and Amazon couldn’t fix the problems so now I have another new Kindle started by my niece.
So nice to have your family in the neighborhood.
    Bengals are my local team.
