It’s a Pumpkin Chair

It’s FriYaY again. The days really do go by quicker the older you get. Yesterday was a pretty packed day!

My day started off with a gorgeous walk outside.

As I headed out the door I realized my Apple Watch was dead. That split second moment when you think to yourself, does my walk even count?

Ah, but onward! I walked with a friend which not only makes the walk more special and more fun, it also goes by fast and hopefully you can count on your friends fitness tracker to see how far you walk! We got in just over 3 miles.

I came home to this on the front porch. The rug I ordered online from RugsUSA at 11:30 pm one night has arrived! My daughter Tess ordered her living room rug from there and she’s a very thorough (and thrifty) shopper so I knew I could count on her to send me in the right direction.

This sucker was super heavy all packaged up. Getting it in the door and to the living area by myself was comical.

I opened it all up to take a peek. We can’t put it on the new floor for another two weeks. It’s actually a little different than I was expecting but also, I love it more than I was expecting!

The piano man had to cancel yesterday so the piano still sets to the side of where it needs to go by about 5 feet then back against the wall under the mirror, however in this picture it kinda looks like it is in place!

After admiring it for a several minutes, I had to fold it all back up (also comical) and find a place where we will be less likely to trip over it for the next two weeks. It’s literally in the middle of the house now. We will both likely trip over more than once in the coming days.

I’ve had thoughts of what I want in this room for weeks now. I’ve been very patient as I shop and think about how I want this space to look. I knew I wanted an accent chair to the right of the fireplace that would give the room a pop of color and I had an idea of what I wanted. These are just a few I’ve found for inspiration..

Yesterday I found this at a little decor store just up the road. Soooo comfortable and unique.

They called it “Pumpkin Chair”!! What??? Yep. Bought it. Picking it up today.

My gift to myself yesterday? A Pumpkin Chair that I will cherish forever….cuz….Pumpkin.

Breakfast

Smoothie with 1 banana, 1 C frozen wild blueberries, a few drops of cinnamon stevia, 4 oz unsweetened almond milk and 1/2 T of my favorite nut butter.

This is my new method for freezing bananas. I used to peel, then cut into 1 inch pieces and put in freezer bags. This is so much easier. Freeze them whole. When ready to use, cut in half. Microwave for 15-30 seconds. Then squeeze. They come out of the peel really easy but are still firm enough to make your smoothie nice and thick and creamy! I’m certain that a whole bunch of really smart people already figured this out. Hey, better late than never.

I added 1/2 T of almond butter to my smoothie then topped it off with a pretty drizzle.

Snack

Trader Joe’s find. Just Dried Mango. Looks like leather. Feels like leather. Taste like deliciousness.

1 piece = 1 WW Personal Point.

Use sparingly. For real though, these are super sweet and satisfy my sweet craving.

Dinner

So glad I did some meal prep earlier in the week. This plate is a few things I grabbed from the fridge that I could simply heat up. Chicken breast, mahi-mahi fillet, squash and Brussels sprouts.

Goal? Work in more veggies.

I’ve got a pumpkin chair to go pick up!

Have a fantabulous Friday friends!

  1. Pale in comparison. 😂😂😂 Now you have me thinking about tripping. However, all four corners will be underneath furniture. That should help? Anxious to hear what you think about WW personal points! Good or bad, you must share your thoughts!

  2. First things first, I LOVE the chair you picked out!! The others pale in comparison (get it? as in, non-pumpkin?) It’s going to look perfect there beside the fireplace! And the rug is so pretty! Is it heavier than it looks? Because I’d be tripping all over that bad boy if it’s as light-weight as it looks in the picture! LOL Red tree: super super stunning! Meals look yummy as always. Interesting way to freeze bananas. But a couple of little banana slices are my after-dinner (okay, after lunch too) sweet because to me they taste like ice cream! Okay, now to catch up on your post yesterday about WW Personal Points … thanks for posting! You’re the best!
