Girls Weekend

This road trip to Branson, Missouri the first weekend in December has become an annual thing and it is SO much fun!

These girls make me laugh so hard. I always offer to drive and I don’t think I’ve ever had so much entertainment while driving. One friend drove in from Houston and met us there and via a few phone calls, the girls entertained her as well.

The entire weekend was filled with laughs, good food, funny stories, games, more laughs, memories made (selfies and pictures galore!) and lots of love shared from these ladies.

This was a great airbnb find for a girls weekend. Open kitchen to cook while still being able to chat with everyone. Fireplace that we were able to simply flip a switch to turn on and enjoy in the evenings without worrying about any wood. Two bedrooms upstairs, three downstairs.

A wooded backyard and a trail for Tracy and I to hike at the end of our cul-de-sac.

Three nights of coziness.

We went to The Top of the Rock on Friday night simply for the view.

This is a beautiful lodge offering golf, three different restaurants, shops, and a favorite, the golf cart rides on a beautiful trail filled with waterfalls and stunning views, all on the top of this hill with this gorgeous view.

We were able to watch the sunset while having appetizers outside. In December!!

Saturday started with breakfast at the cabin that included cranberry mimosas!

After a little shopping, off to the spa for massages, foot scrubs and facials, then back to the house for pj’s, soups, our gift exchange and games.

Sunday, more shopping. The weather was in the 70’s and beautiful! We found the cutest shop! I wanted everything in it.

Then back to The Top of the Rock for lunch and the Golf Cart rides.

Seriously, this is always a highlight of the trip. The trail is so pretty with all of it’s view, waterfalls, bridges and the Bat Cave Bar!

Such a fun afternoon.

Entering the Bat Cave Bar

Waiting in line to place our order. I feel like Fred Flinstone in here.

Then back to the house for some yummy food and a Chiefs win!

We packed a lot in over the long weekend but I felt like we relaxed a lot too.

Out of the house Monday morning by 10:00, only to stop an hour later for a 1 1/2 hour lunch because none of us wanted to come home yet.

They did make-up and sang Christmas songs alllll the way home.

I met these ladies thought Ashli, my neighbor of over 20 years and one of my besties. They’ve always treated me like they’ve known me forever.

I went into the weekend knowing I would enjoy a glass of wine with the girls and share some apps while eating out, but I also wanted to continue feeling good and come home feeling good about my choices.

I took my NA beers and enjoyed a few of those. I took my NA bubbly for mimosas and those tasted great. I made one of the soups for soup night and bought lots of veggies on a quick trip to the store Saturday morning. I got in a little hike one morning and we were on the go the majority of the weekend. I came home feeling like the weekend was a good balance with no regrets.

Can’t wait until next year!
