I first got the bug for a vintage travel trailer when I went to Branson and stayed in a cute little cabin at the KOA Campground. My dad and stepmom were attending the Vintage Rally there in their 1966 Forrester Travel Trailer and I wanted to go and see what it was all about. Well, I fell in love. You can read all about that trip in this post, Vintage Glamping 2015. I knew I really wanted to have one of my own after that trip. “She believed she could, so she did” I love that quote! My first trip to Branson in Effie was in 2019. We skipped last year due to Covid, and this year Mike went with us! Still not his thing, but he did go. lol I’ll just let you scroll and enjoy the pics. I had so much fun seeing all the campers. (People. People […]

A Light Post
That last post was heavy. Thanks so much for all the love you sent my way! This is a light post, not to be confused with a light lamp post. Okay, I giggled. I make dad jokes now. This is not a sponsored post. I’m just sharing a few things I’m loving right now. Sheets – Who knew they could be life changing? These night sweats are real and one afternoon I asked my friend Google where I could find “The best sheets for night sweats” and I discovered a company called Sheets & Giggles. I really wanted to like this company simply based on their name. After visiting their website and finding myself extremely entertained, I knew I wanted to order a sheet set. These sheets are not only ridiculously soft, but the company is very eco-friendly. All packaging is recyclable and for every order of sheets you buy, […]
4th Cancerversary
Hi Friends! July 5th was my last post and it’s been so long I don’t even know where to start or how to explain why I haven’t been posting, but I’ll give it a go. Life has been full and busy with family and lake trips with friends and that all is so great and it makes me so happy. This picure was at a campsite with a beach area just a couple of weeks ago at sunset. Isn’t it just gorgeous? Happy place for certain! However, my body and brain feel like sludge, so that part’s not so great and it feels like the “not so great” parts of life are consuming me physically and mentally. I lost all interest in blogging as I was really struggling to push the negative things happening to the back of my brain and pull the positive, fun and happy things forward to […]
Excitement All Around!
Hi Friends! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend celebrating the 4th! Mike and I had full Friday with friends and a great date night on Saturday. I threw out the suggestion that we get back to date night on a regular basis and Mike agreed. To keep it interesting, as a part of the date we have to do or go someplace we’ve never been before, new restaurant, new activity. Axe throwing? Escape room? While the idea will be to find new places to of course revisit, I’m looking forward to trying new things. We tried a new restaurant that we will be going back to for certain! Sierra Grill and I think we counted 17 tables? Small farm to table scratch kitchen with a small menu that they switch up. We ate big! Mike ordered the Mahi-Mahi as it was the special and I ordered the Filet […]
Symphony in the Flint Hills
Have you made the drive on Interstate 35 through the Flint Hills of Kansas? If you’re from the KC area, then you likely have. Perhaps you’ve made that drive on a road trip? My family made this drive regularly when I was growing up as we would drive south from KC to a small town just west of Wichita, Ks to visit my grandparents. As a kid this was a boring drive through Kansas. As an adult I began to appreciate these flowing hills and became in awe of their beauty. The Flint Hills of Kansas is actually 10,000 sq miles of flowing pasture, some privately owned and some government owned. I’ve only seen a small part of it. This year I decided to attend an event I’d heard great stories about, but never took the opportunity to see for myself. The weekend met all of my expectations as I […]
Life is Feeling Good!
Hey Friends, The last few weeks have felt so good! Taking an actual vacation, heading out to restaurants with the hubs, meeting friends for coffee, planning trips for 2021 and doing a WW Workshop this week with no mask! Yep! Our members that are vaccinated are now welcome to enjoy the workshop with no mask if they choose, enjoy food and drink during the workshop, and everyone can now take off their shoes to weigh as long as they are wearing socks. These are HUGE changes back to normal for the members and I’m so happy to be moving forward as I know so many of us are. I have several members that I met only after Workshops opened back up in 2020, so I’ve never seen them without their mask. I was excited to see whole faces and meet that smile I had envisioned under the mask. I loved […]
Hola Amigo!
With so many cancelations over the last 12+ months (like everyone else in the world), Mike and I finally got to follow through with a planned trip! We joined some friends in Mexico last week and I’d like to go back, today! A friend of ours recently celebrated her 50th birthday, and after we all began getting vaccinated she started talking about taking a trip to Mexico to celebrate and inviting all of her friends to join her. Mike and I decided to join everyone for three days of the trip then stay an additional three days just the two of us. It was the perfect mix of celebrating with friends then reconnecting with the hubs. We had a great time enjoying friends, the beach, the pools, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, the staff at the resort, the guest we met, the sunshine, the views and time away from […]
A Rainy Bonus Day!
For a few different reasons, all day Saturday felt like Sunday to me. It was actually late in the day when it dawned on me that it was only Saturday and then I felt as though I’d just gained a bonus day! I woke up Sunday early, like 6:00 am early, and could not go back to sleep. Apparently I was excited for bonus day. I headed to the couch with my favorite blanket to look for a good movie to watch. I was thinking a good chick flick, or maybe something romantic. I curled up on the couch, hugged my biggest coffee mug and decided on The Woman in the Window. A thriller suspense movie on Netflix with Amy Adams. Not at all a chick flick or a romance! Not my typical Sunday morning either, but it was really a good movie! Following the thriller I…….wrote a blog post, […]
Cabin, Kids & Fun
It’s Sunday late morning and I’m curled up in my robe with a blanket on the screened in deck, sipping my coffee while listening to a hard rain and lots of thunder cracks and booms. Occasionally the rain completely stops and it’s silent except for the owl I hear in the distance and what sounds like an angry bird in the tree that I could touch if not for the screen. Then the rain quickly starts up again, the sky lights up followed by more cracks and booms. It’s the best morning! I’m especially enjoying this rainy morning because for most of the day yesterday, I thought it was Sunday. I feel like I have a whole free day to sit here and listen to it rain if that is all I decided to do today. We’ve had a few busy weekends playing with the grandkids. Kate Looking good and […]
Getting Out and About
Hi Friends! I hope you are all enjoying your spring and have had the opportunity to spend some time with family and friends as we move into 2021 with a little more hope of getting back to the lives we knew pre-Covid. These last couple of weeks have felt like 2019 for me and it was soooo nice! Camping, dining out, time spent with friends and an upcoming vacation in a few weeks. It feels like life is moving forward verses the Chevy Chase Groundhog day it was imitating. How about you? Is life moving forward for you? I hope so! Even if it’s just a few small steps. My 11 year old granddaughter accompanied me and Effie to the lake recently to camp. It was Effie’s first time out this year and she did not disappoint! Amiyah entertained herself with a glider that didn’t want to glide while I […]
