Great Weekend and a Belated Father’s Day

Such a great weekend! A trip to the Farmer’s Market and lots of time spent outside over the weekend.   Just look at the size of these……tomatoes that I found at the market!   I was going for BLT’s, but instead made this BLT Pizza on a Cauliflower Crust from Trader Joe’s. Uh….yum. I drizzled this with Mayo and added Avocado.   Saturday was a simple dinner of Fish, Salad and Sliced tomatoes. I’m not a huge tomato fan, but there is something about these fresh homegrown ones that I love!   Mike and I went out for breakfast Sunday and I ordered off the kids menu. I wasn’t super hungry but wanted something. I ate half the potatoes, half the pancakes (scooped that butter off and added a little syrup) and gave Mike my bacon. Have you ever ordered off of the kids menu? Less expensive AND smaller servings!   […]

What’s Your Style?

My Friday so far has been relaxed with a leisurely morning at home, followed by attending my WW meeting. It’s cloudy and 68 so I’m in sweats with a bottomless cup of coffee in my hand and I could not be happier! My routine is all over the place these last several weeks. Well, I guess I don’t actually have a routine, but I’d like one. Until I do have one, I’m just trying to get in a blog post when I can and hopefully share something useful, or at least say “hi”. I’m tracking, drinking tons of water, walking and cooking. My weight is stuck, I have Kankles and swollen hands and the hot flashes are intense (I will admit, they are less frequent when I drink less coffee!) and the doc has me experimenting with my meds to work through the puffiness and these aching joints. All side effects […]

A Quick “Hello”

My last blog post I mentioned that we were going to Dallas for our daughters Engagement Party. The party was beautiful I’ll share pictures after Tess and Manuel have the opportunity to do that first. We met so many great people that are important to Tess and Manuel and it felt great to be able to put a face to a name. Unfortunately, Manuel had an Uncle that became very ill (he has not been well for quite sometime) as he was going to his car at the end of the party. The ambulance came and we were all at the ER within minutes with his family. His uncle spent the next several days in the hospital and passed away on Friday. Right now the focus for Tess and Manuel is on his family and surrounding them with love and support. Prayers are welcomed. I’ll share details of the party when it feels […]

Life Is Good!

Hi. My name is Julie and I used to write this blog. lol Okay, for realzzzz. I have not posted for about a month, but it’s really a good thing because I have just been living life and life is pretty full and happy right now. I have received several messages from a lot of you and I keep saying that I am going to get a blog posted, but at the end of the day, I’ve been pooped, so I climb in bed and it’s pretty darned nice. I decided that no matter what happened, I would get a blog posted today. It’s 11:30 pm on Thursday and we are leaving early in the morning to go to Dallas for our daughter and her finances engagement party. Mike and I are so happy for them and really looking forward to a long weekend in Dallas. It’s the first trip that we […]

Mother’s Day Weekend Success

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! We had a very full and happy one. This was one of the first weekends in a long time that we had so many things planned and that I was determined to enjoy myself while still following my WW plan by tracking and getting in my daily walks. I feel really good about successfully staying on plan while also having a great long weekend. We talked wedding plans with Tess and Manuel over the weekend and made some big decisions. We went to Sawyer’s first Birthday party on Saturday. We had Mother’s Day here at our house with a nice big family get together. Monday morning I had a meeting with my WW boss about my next steps as a WW Leader (Yay!!), then Tess went with me to my two month post op appointment with my plastic surgeon, and later in […]

Member First – Leader Second

Yesterday morning I went to my WW meeting as a member, excited for my first weigh in back on plan after several months of focusing on healing.  I was also quite pleased with the activity points that I had earned my first week back on plan!   After an awesome week of tracking and paying attention to my portions, earning 6 out of 7 Blue Dots (It’s a WW thing in the app that keeps you motivated to stay within a healthy eating range of points), walking and counting steps, saying “no” to things that would not help me reach my goals and saying “yes” to things that will help me, basically having a really healthy and “in control” week, I stepped on the scale and was down 0.2 pounds. Yep, that’s right. Down 0.2. What?? Here is what went on inside my head yesterday as a WW Member and […]

A Quick Hello today

Just stopping in to say “Hi”. I’m posting daily over this long weekend to keep myself accountable, so these next several post will be boring, unless I happen to eat something spectacular!! It has been an awesome first week back on plan and tracking and walking. Tess and I are headed out the door soon to my WW meeting. It will be nice to have her with me this morning.  Tess and Manuel are here until Monday and we have all sorts of fun family plans and their wedding to plan! Lots going on! Happy Friday! I got my 10,000 steps in yesterday and Tess and Tucker joined me on my walk.     Yesterday’s eats… Breakfast – 8 SP First Watch Poached Eggs, Fruit, Potatoes and Avocado   I even left some on my plate!   Lunch – 0 SP Rotisserie Chicken Breast and Berries on my lap in the […]

Make a Plan and Do Your Best

So this happened yon Wednesday and the first 8,000 steps apparently gave me an adrenaline rush for the next 12 hours! I was on the go all day long and I loved it! It was a windows down, music cranked up kinda day.  The last part of my day was the best part of my day, although I was pooped. Mike and I picked up Tess and Manuel and even Tucker at the airport at 11:00 last night. I crashed hard! We have a full weekend planned, but I plan to stick to a daily blog of at least my food and activity. Gotta stay accountable through an extra long weekend of extra people at the house, a birthday party on Saturday and a Mother’s Day get together on Sunday. My plan of action is to attend my WW meeting Friday morning and be a tracking Queen over the next the next […]

Feeling in Control of Me

It feels so great to be back in a routine and to feel so in control of life. I have noticed that over the years as a WW member, when I track my food and I take the time to meal plan, I feel so in control. Feeling in control of my food, for some reason makes me feel so much more control in every aspect of my life. Things feel really good right now. Yesterday was another full day, just the way I like it. I got in a great walk at a park by my moms house. I spent a good part of the day with my mom, having lunch together and taking her to the doctor. I worked at a great WW meeting last night. WW meetings are always great really.  I got caught up on the TV show Rise. Anyone watching?? I hadn’t been to this […]

A Colorful Monday

Such a productive day! Blogging. Done. Walking. Done. Dinner prep. Done. Laundry. Done.  Work an evening WW meeting. Done. Bed by 9:30. Done. I totally forgot to check my steps last night before going to bed, but after looking at it this morning, I only missed my goal of 10,000 by a few. I’ll take it.   Here are yesterday’s eats. It was a colorful Food Day! Breakfast – 10 SP My leftovers from the night before topped with Eggs and Avocado along with a few grapes.   Lunch – 3 SP Tuna Salad, Baby Carrots and Cucumber slices.   Dinner – 6 SP Trina’s Lasagna Recipe I’ve had some issues with bloating after this last surgery. In an effort to find the culprit, I’ve decided to eliminate a few things from my diet to see if I can figure out what is making that happen. One of the things that […]
